STULL-GORANSON
Garnet Stull and Burton Goranson were united in marriage Fort Dodge, Iowa on June 1, 1946.
Local News
Dorothy Ann Jones of Red Wing is spending two weeks with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Clemens.
Mrs. Kenneth Blood and daughter, Mrs. William Fowler and son and Miss Patty Almeter spent the week-end in Minneapolis.
Mr. and Mrs. Nick Smith and family and Charlie Smith of Jackson, Mich. came Thursday of last week to visit Mr. and Mrs. Mike Smith and Mrs. Josephine Gombert.
Mrs. Jack Siems and infant son came home, Friday from the St. John’s Hospital, Red Wing.
Mrs. Jane Caswell and George Wright of Zumbrota and Vernon Wright of Minneapolis were Sunday callers at the Grace Gregoire home.
Lightning did considerable damage at the Ven Maas store Sunday evening. It knocked out the electric refrigerator and set fire to the floor. Smoke did some damage. Harold Majerus saw the smoke in the store and notified Mr. Maas.
Mrs. Marie Bluhm of Rochester is visiting her mother, Mrs. Fred Banick.
Lynn Gregoire, daughter of Mr. and J.B. Gregoire, stepped on a piece of glass Tuesday and was taken to Dr. Flom at Zumbrota for treatment.
CARD OF THANKS
I wish to thank the Mazeppa Fire Department for its assistance in the fire at the store Sunday evening.

Lawrence Hofschulte
June 21, 1946
George Dougherty passed away at St. John’s hospital, Red Wing early Tuesday morning from pneumonia and a heart condition. Mr. Dougherty was born in Philadelphia Aug. 22, 1880. Jan. 21, 1914, he married Miss Anne Hertzig of Mazeppa, who survives.
EVENSON-PRIGGE: Oscar Evenson and Miss Irene Prigge, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Prigge were married Friday at 2 p.m. by Re. Theo Haar at the Bear Valley Lutheran parsonage.
HOFSCHULTE-MAULE WEDDING: Vincent Hofschulte, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hofschulte of Mazeppa was married to Miss Dorothy Maule of Grand Rapids, Mich. at St. Mary’s church in that city.
Local News:
Alfred Oelkers has bought the Riede farm north of Mazeppa.
Kenneth Atkinson of Zumbro Falls has taken a position at the People’s State Bank.
Mr. and Mrs. Martin Prokasky have moved into the upstairs apartment of the Mrs. John Weber residence.
Martin Kuehl has sold his farm north of town to Ervin Post. Mr. Kuehl and family will move to Red Wing.
The fire department was called to the Joe Evenson farm west of town Monday afternoon, when a bunch of rags on the porch caught fire, and burned a small hole in the wall. The blaze was quickly extinguished.
Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Tri, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Tri and Walter Reiland attended the funeral of Mrs. George Poncelet in St. Paul, Monday.
John Gruhlke, Vincent Sand, Alex Weber, Lawrence Hart and John Roland left Monday on a few days fishing trip to Mille Lacs.
