Obituaries
MRS. LINCOLN SHELDON
Relative have received word last week of the death of Mrs. Lincoln Sheldon of Old Wives, Sask., Canada on Aug. 31 at Providence hospital in Moose Jaw. She had been a patient there a month.
She leaves her husband and two daughters.

Weddings
SIEMS-ARENDT
Miss Gene Arendt, daughter of Mrs. Susan Arendt of Mazeppa and Glen Siems, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Siems of Mazeppa were united in marriage at a lovely double ring ceremony at 8:30 a.m., Sept. 7, at SS. Peter and Paul church. The Rev. D.J. Lavery officiated.

ADDITIONAL LOCALS
A truck driven by Larry Colling and a car driven by Lyle Von Bargen collided near the John Stull residence, Tuesday evening. Neither one was injured, but the vehicles were damaged.

Around the School
Again this year, the kitchen is under the direction of Helen Heaney and Mildred Gillespie.

Local News
Pfc. Richard Hammes, recently stationed at Fort Reilly, Kans. has been discharged from the army. He returned home last week.
The following left Friday morning for Ely, on a fishing trip and returned Sunday evening: Louie Befort, Emil Hofschulte, H.O. Sommerfield and son, Elmer, Vernie Betcher, John Tommeraas and Louie Liffrig.

Weddings
BRIGHT-POST
A beautiful autumn wedding united in marriage Joanne Bright daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Bright and Walter Post, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Post of Zumbrota, at 2 p.m. Sept. 22 at St. John’s Lutheran church, Mazeppa. The Rev. Theo. Haar officiated at eh double ring ceremony.

TRI-SCHIESER
Miss Geraldine Schieser of West Concord and Richard Tri, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Tri, were united in marriage Aug. 27 at 9 a.m. at Zumbrota.


PRIGGE-HENNIE
Mrs. Agnes Hennie and Henry Prigge were married at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Pine Island Methodist parsonage. The Rev. E. Cox officiated at the single ring ceremony.

Wedding Anniversaries
Rev. and Mrs. Theo. Haar
Rev. and Mrs. Haar were pleasantly surprised on Sunday afternoon by the members and families of St. John’s Lutheran Congregation of Bear Valley at the aid room. Present also were relatives and other friends---the occasion being the 15th Wedding Anniversary of Rev. and Mrs. Haar.
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Roemer
Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Roemer (Viola Nardinger) were Surprised Saturday evening at their home in Lake City on their 20th wedding anniversary. The event also was the reunion of the eight Nardinger sister and brothers and their families.

Obituaries
GERALD JACKSON
Funeral services for Gerald Jackson, 21, of Pine Island township were held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Mahler Funeral home and at 2 p.m. at the Pine Island Methodist church. The Rev. E. Cox officiated
Jackson was killed early Friday morning when his car left county road 12, four miles northwest of Pine Island, He was en route home from Mazeppa, and apparently fell asleep at the wheel and crashed over a steep embankment. His body was found about 7 a.m. by LaVerne Goplin.
