6th Annual Autumn Supper
A message from the MAHS Pesident, Helen Reiland : 9/12/2016
The Mazeppa Historical Society & the Mazeppa Cemetery Association want to send out a big "Thank You" for those who attended & worked our Autumn Supper- a great turn out! It helps as neither of the organizations have any help from the city, county or state ---& the public cemetery is NOT connected with any church so no funds there! We need to preserve our history before it is LOST! And for those who missed it----you missed a Great Meal! Lots of compliments on our secret recipe!
Again this year about 20 ZM students gathered at the Mazeppa Cemetery on May 11 for Community Service Day. Students, along with the direction of staff, assisted in general clean-up of the grounds and washing down of cemetery monuments. Extra muscle was needed to help straighten a very large monument and 3 young ladies from the track team stepped forward and got the job done by lifting, pushing, and carrying heavy pails of crushed rock. Extra thanks go to them. The Mazeppa Area Historical Society and the Mazeppa Cemetery Association very much appreciate the program and enthusiasm displayed by the students and staff. Again, this group of ZM students really made a difference. - Helen Reiland and Mike Holtorf
