Cemetery Clean-up Day - 2013
Due to the foot of snow that we received our Cemetery Clean-up day was finally held on Saturday May 18th.
Here is a note from our MAHS president :
I Want to "Thank" all those who helped with the Cemetery Clean-up. We were hoping for a bigger group but "All" really pitched in & did an outstanding job. Even Father Joe Fogal came to work along with Duane & Carol Hofschulte, Joe Sand, Mike & Rebecca Steffes, Jim Siems, Jim Marx, Steve Frank, Brenda Weich, Tom Stahman, Bob Hoefs, Bruce Kinlund, Ernie & Vicki Arendt, Mike Holtorf & myself..hope I didn't miss anyone. Trees got cut, monuments straightened, 8 foot markers (stones) were uncovered, & a couple of head stones were cleaned... Long day but very rewarding...
A special thanks goes out to Mike Steffes for his work and for bringing his four wheeler, trailer and other equipment ! You made the job so much easier !
Our Annual Meeting was held on April 27th.

The Mazeppa Area Historical Society would like to "THANK" all those who attended our meeting on Saturday April 27th. We listened to Civil War Speaker Josh Boraas. Josh is "Well Versed" on the local civil war history. He portrays Francis Jerry (who lived where the Beforts have their junk yard)- Frances was in the "3rd Minnesota" & 2nd Sgt. Josh Boraas is part of a local re-enactment group of the Civil War. Comments were "Could of listen to Josh longer!"---Josh was excellent in his presentation!
